Did you know you can buy a real flying dragon? I just found this out. It looks like a dragon, has cute wings and I am pretty sure it flies. This is a whole level of awesome that I am just so happy about. I am adding it to my list of pets that I want but will never actually buy. Wouldn’t it be cool to say to people who are annoying you, “RELEASE THE DRAGON!”

Just for a day, Colorado cop David Wolf trades slogging through murky meltwaters and even murkier small-town politics for an overnight camping trip in the wilderness with his son.

But when a man with fresh burns turns up on their trail, falling from the heavy load in his backpack and running wild from something, Wolf suspects his father-son camping trip may have just taken a turn for the worse.

Unfortunately his instincts are spot on, and Wolf is forced into action with the last person he wants by his side in a deadly battle — his only son.

When news of their disturbing episode travels through the valleys, local FBI agents want to take over Wolf’s investigation, hoping to halt murder and corruption originating 7,000 miles away in Afghanistan. Wolf ignores the FBI’s order to stand down, even if the case involves a matter of national security. Not when his son’s safety is at stake.

In this stomach-dropping, action and suspense packed third installment of the David Wolf series, Wolf partners with a beautiful FBI agent to bust an inter-continental conspiracy threatening anyone who has the bad enough luck to stumble on it.

Alive and Killing has mystery, thrills, suspense, and action that will grab and pin you down until the final page.

Relationships don’t come easy when you’re too shy to love…

Bookstore owner Emily Welland is timid and deeply insecure–and she has her reasons. She’s read about Quinn Ramsay, the brilliantly successful celebrity entrepreneur, and she’s seen pictures of him in the tabloids–always with a stunning model or actress on his arm. Quinn’s glittering California life is the polar opposite to her quiet and reclusive days on Salt Spring Island in the Pacific Northwest. So when Quinn comes to her island and shows an interest in her, her initial reactions are disbelief, fear, and panic attacks. None of which she can control. All of which makes Quinn more interested than ever.

What does a typical twenty-year old do when wooed by an older university teacher? Surrender or flee?

Gina vomits out of stress, writes crude poetry, and stops talking to Daniel because of deeply-rooted inhibitions. But she also submits indecent essays which expose her talent and weaknesses to him; she is the perfect target—lonely, ambitious, and chronically shy.

Gina sits in the last row, observing how Daniel subjects himself to her peers’ ridicule as he tries to win her affections. She bites her nails, writes this diary, and hides a multitude of secrets, including a lifelong family conflict following a tragedy that blighted her childhood.

She is unlovable, having suffered rejection before, but she tries to keep herself amused. On the bad days, however, self-sabotage is what she does best. Daniel is a welcome distraction, but is he what she really needs?

How easy is it to fight guilt, low self-esteem, and an overwhelming need for attention? What to do with a long-kept secret when it is finally revealed? Is it easier to abandon or be abandoned? Does either have to happen?

Perhaps more kitschy than artistic, this often cringeworthy story is an unexpected combination of the two. Warning: this might be the silliest and most primitive novel you have ever read.
