I believe I have had my sweet chickies for about a year now. One full year of experience and knowledge. I still have a lot to learn about those ladies. Right now they look more beautiful than I have ever seen them. Perfect feathers, shiny and happy. No eggs. At the feed store I mentioned the lack of eggs and the lady behind the counter said, “Yup! All chickens are on break.” Drat. I want my eggs. I have resorted to buying eggs at the store and I must say it is depressing. As an egg snob I am having a real hard time with this. I do get one bit of comfort though. When hubby had returned from the backyard where the coop is, I had asked him if the ladies had anything to say? He said they usually don’t have much to say to him, and it was only for me they get extra clucky. That made me smile.
