There is still a tadpole left in my pond. WHAT THE HECK? I put about 20 tadpoles in my pond over a month ago, so I assumed they were all grown up and gone by now. While I was emptying the water out to clean it up and give my plants some nutritious water I found the little fella at the bottom of the pond swimming around. Maybe he met the mosquito fish I have and they fell in love and are getting married. That makes about as much sense as him still being a tadpole.

The Blue
Scott Kelly
(73 Reviews)
Genre: Literary Fiction | Mystery, Thriller & Suspense
FREE for a limited time
Stylized and divisive, The Blue is far from a happy summer read. Part gritty suspense novel, part experimental literature in the vein of Camus or Joyce, it is a story for readers seeking a thought-provoking thrill. On the surface, Kelly’s provocative novel is about a man’s quest for redemption. Dig deeper and it asks questions about the nature of guilt, innocence, reality and revenge.
Derek may or may not deserve to be stalked by an unhinged ex-marine – he’s not sure. He did kill the man’s entire family in a car accident, and he may have been drinking, though thanks to the resulting coma he can’t remember much about that day. And that’s okay, because Derek is learning all about it from the district attorney as he explains to the jury why the young painter should go to prison.
Prison isn’t right now, though – it isn’t breaking into his home, stabbing him, or kidnapping him at gunpoint. And managing his stalker would be much easier if Derek could see him coming. But, he’s incapable of recognizing the man tormenting him, or anyone else. Can’t even recognize his own face in the mirror. Since Derek woke up from his coma, he’s been face blind: a rare condition that renders him unable to identify people by their appearances.
Anyone in Derek’s world of strangers could be his stalker. In this mind-bending thriller, the talented painter is pushed to a tipping point as his reality unravels at the hands of a madman.

Brian Night
(38 Reviews)
Genre: Cookbooks, Food & Wine | Politics & Social Sciences
FREE for a limited time
Canning is a process where we seal food or drinks in jars, then heat them to destroy microorganisms that cause spoilage. It’s the same concept that the food industry undertakes to put food, such as soups or vegetables, in cans and sell it to the consumer. With home canning, you are in charge of all the ingredients as well as the taste and quality of your food.
This book will cover: Canning Safety, Methods and types of canning, Canning Equipment, Types of food to can, How to Prep your food for canning, The canning processand much, much, more
When we say canning we actually mean jarring, but the conventional method of canning gets its name from a food preservation method introduced by the French in the 1800s. We see this applied today, all over the world, to canned soups, peaches, beans, and so on today. The home method of canning differs in some ways, but the main principle is still the same.
