I’m hungry. It’s that time of year again and I can’t say its my favorite. It’s the time of year when the ladies are not producing eggs like they should. Naughty has lost a good amount of feathers and hasn’t laid an egg in forever. I can see the new feathers coming in, so I am trying to be patient. Summer still has ever single beautiful feather on her body, but hasn’t laid an egg in over a week as well, so I am considering her just lazy. Heather is molting and not looking quite so pretty, but she is still laying like a champ. Poor Jackie and Heather have to keep up production for all four of them. I really shouldn’t look at them with hungry eyes. I think it makes them nervous. I think this Spring I will definitely need to get a few more chickens. I am hesitant because it is hard enogh keeping up with repairs to the garden when just four have gone through. Can you imagine 6 chickens?
