Hubby says I should learn to do things last minutes like the rest of the world does. Then I wouldn’t be so tired. CRAZINESS! Also a bit true. I am completely ready for the baby basset’s school walk-a-thon. I have the lap passes made, t-shirts separated by class, and decoration at the ready. We could have it right now and I would be prepared. So do I sit back, relax and enjoy the free time. Nope. I continue to make things to decorate the track with. I made a giant butterfly last night and I thought our scene needed a butterfly. Did that turn my brain off…nope. Now I am thinking we need a special backdrop for kids to take selfies with. It really seems necessary. I feel it in my heart it’s necessary. It’s not at all necessary. (If it weren’t for spell check you would have seen necessary spelled wrong four different ways).

In the spring of 1941, nineteen-year-old John Cooper asks sixteen-year-old Nora Warden to marry him. After she instructs him to “grow up first,” he joins the Army Air Corps. Stationed at Hickam Field, the air base adjacent to Pearl Harbor, John survives the devastation of December 7. The aftermath of the attack only begins his odyssey through the South Pacific, four years that burden him with guilt and shame. Returning home a wearied man, John seeks to start a family with Nora, but the young couple confronts hardships intensified by the harrowing memories both carry from their pasts. Amid the unrest of the Cold War and John’s worries about the arms race, he and Nora find solace in raising their daughter, Cassie. But it is not until the impact of September 11 leaves John’s grandson, Johnny DeRosa, overrun with anguish and despair that John fully comprehends how the sacrifices of his generation will have a profound influence on the decisions his grandson makes. The Sky Buries All Sorrow is a riveting, momentous novel that bridges Pearl Harbor with 9/11 and examines how those two tragic events changed the world and shaped the lives of one family over three generations. From the pivotal battles in the Pacific to the homesteads outside of Pittsburgh and from the beaches of Southern California to the desert terrain of the Nevada Test Site, it is an unforgettable family saga and an intimate story of personal struggle and the challenges of enduring love.

My name is Bently Young. I wouldn’t say I’m an angry person. In fact my life had been like a bubble gum infused sundae topped with happiness sprinkles up until the age of when I could date. And I started to date a lot. Guys were fun at first, a nice dinner, someone to tell me I was pretty and laugh at my sarcastic jokes. But then the little creeps started showing their true colors. And they were not my favorite colors. They were like barf green and overripe fungus tangerine. And it made me angry. Swearing off dating all together was too drastic, but I sure wanted to not do it for a while. I had my family and friends to keep me occupied. I didn’t need a man to take me to cheesy restaurants. One could only eat so much free bread and butter. Life could keep zooming along without the necessity of someone with chest hair being around. Oh but then I met Josh. If I could have just never known he existed, all would have been fine. Of course, I don’t mean that because if I never knew he was in the world, my own world would have been an awful place. He makes me want to dance under a happiness sprinkle hail storm. Pretty much he is gorgeous and has the insane ability to use his words to make my heart float out of my chest. That made things a lot better when everything else I knew in my life decided to implode. But we weren’t immune to the black hole of horribleness either. Ours is an epic love story and I just happened to write it down for you…

“You know nothing. Nothing about Tanzia or its people. You would never have agreed to dog me if you didn’t want to see the Black Continent, and only I can show it to you. You have only one option anyhow: follow me, Commander Sharp.”
A Lost World. A Marvelous Expedition. A Dangerous Ambassador.
Across the waters from industrialized Cavendia lies the Forbidden Continent of Tanzia, where Servants, the majikal creations of an ancient sorcerer, still walk the earth. Once mankind was enslaved there, but after the sorcerer’s imprisonment, one nation sailed away. For centuries, none has dared return, until now. Fear has grown that technology may have emerged on Tanzia. Cavendia’s government decides to make first contact with the ancient land. Their chosen ambassador is Chadwick Yates, of origins unknown. An expert woodsman and firearms master, Yates is not a man to be crossed. His mission is to report on the technology and resources of the indigenous, but the government now suspects he is hiding the full truth. Thurston Sharp, a Royal Navy Commander from a long military pedigree, is selected to go along and find out what Yates is hiding. When the pair are dropped on Tanzia, Sharp realizes nearly everything Yates has told the government is a lie. But in a land populated by dark hounds, cannibals, and gargoyles of living stone, Sharp has no choice but to fight to survive with Yates and to go where the ambassador leads, even to battle…
