I’m not sure what happened, but I think I accidentally landed in a Crossfit class. I did Crossfit for about five years until my shoulder went bad…from Crossfit. The class started out more of a body weight fitness class a few months ago, I really enjoyed it, and was making some good progress. The last few classes have morphed into something different. Young studs have joined, and I am starting to use the coping tools I used when I did Crossfit. Doing things like telling myself I only have fifty more squats in this round (of 5 rounds) and I can do it. Or saying to myself “You can do anything for only ten seconds,” even though you have two more minutes of torture left in this round. I think I started to cry when, in the third round of jumping squats, with everyone watching me and waiting for me to finish my 25 squats that they finished way ahead of me. We all immediately went into the squat hold for 1 minute. Everyone had a good minute of rest waiting for me. I didn’t get any rest. In my head I sounded like a 3 year old who didn’t get an ice cream cone and had to watch while everyone else enjoyed theirs with SPRINKLES!!! I was so close to screaming NO FAIR!!! I was honestly about to snap. I didn’t though… I was too tired.
