I spend a good portion of Summer vacation preparing for Christmas. Yes, you heard me right, CHRISTMAS! Actually it’s more prep for the holiday season. Summer is the time when I don’t have to drag the kids to sports and school, so I have a bit more freedom. This year in addition to the work I do in my home, I have also gotten a job outside of the home. It’s a great job for me because it is very flexible, so I am quite lucky. If I am not working, I am preparing for the holidays by fixing up the worn out parts of the house with fresh paint or fixing things that I might not have gotten to for a while. I had been making my way room by room through the house and yesterday was the day the baby bassets had been dreading. It was time to tackle their bedrooms. The first step being to clear out old toys and clothes and get them ready for the donation bin. I dread this part almost as much as they do. Toys they haven’t touched in years, all of the sudden become their favoritest toy in the world. Each and every toy. That one? Yup. What about this one? YUP YUP. That one over there has an inch of dust, can I get rid of that one? NOPE! NOWAY! NEVER! It is about this time when I think to myself that cleaning the racoon poop off the shed roof sounds like a better, and more fun thing to do.
