I see a lot of people going crazy to get the perfect gift and plan the perfect dinner. They go nuts and I would rather avoid all that. It might also be because my birthday is right around the corner. Now that’s a big deal in my house. I love a day that is all about me. Valentines Day I have to share, but on my birthday I get a cake with my name on it and people sing to me. I can wait a few more weeks.

Ruslan – a young ambitious gamer – agrees to these terms without hesitation. All that he knows is that he’s been contracted to command a space fleet in a brand new game he knows nothing about. Objective: to survive for six months. He can’t tell anyone about the swap. After having made some inevitable newb mistakes, Ruslan has to rethink his strategy, dropping traditional gaming conventions.
Very soon Ruslan starts playing the part of the Crown Prince by his own rules. He replaces his quarrelsome Great House allies with sentient insects and chameleons; he even ignores the Prince’s wife, preferring the company of a friendly droid and a young artless princess. Dancers dance and hustlers hustle… Love doesn’t have any control over who it captures. Demi Westbrook loved Papa to the point of no return. She loved him for who she knew he would become one day. Born with a silver spoon in her mouth, Demi enjoyed life to the fullest, not really knowing what the “hard knock life” felt like, but meeting him changed that. Papa, one of the founding fathers of The Underworld, and the youngest on the team is a hothead and loud mouth. If it’s not Papa’s way then it’s the highway. He’s spoiled and bratty at times, but to Demi, he’s everything. Going against her parents’ wishes to see him, Demi allows Papa to invade her thoughts, her mind, and most importantly in this urban fairytale, her heart. Demi was more than a dancer, the Greats proclaimed it before she left her mother’s womb. Being the daughter of Dorane Little wasn’t easy. Dorane pushed Demi to be better than she was when she danced back in the day. Surpassing her mother wasn’t an easy job. Demi didn’t operate in excuses; she worked harder than every other dancer she knew because her eye had always been on the prize. According to her parents, Papa was a distraction but to Demi he was her motivation. In The Pointe of No Return, witness love and tragedy collide. Readers have been invited to the dance theatre to observe Demi Westbrook transform from a teenager with a dream to a grown woman with a title, Prima Ballerina. Papa and Demi ignore the warning signs of her being too young and naïve, and him being too cocky and dangerous. Once they decided that they are living for each other and not the naysayers, the couple love each other immensely to the Pointe of No Return.

The Heritage: A Jewish Historical Fiction Novel

They just wanted a better life
In the wake of events in the 1900’s, thousands of Jewish families left Europe in search of a better life in the New World. Most reached the shores of the United States, but some, like Leib Edri and Chaim Lubinsky, landed in South America, “where the subtle scent of this mingling of violence, laziness, revelry and gaiety hovers in the air.”
They fought as hard as they could to get ahead in the new world
Leib and Chaim arrive in the town of Lárida, where there are hardly any Jews, and set up shop. They work hard, change their names to León and Jaime, take a leading role in the incipient Jewish community and create a new life for themselves while prospering, marrying and having children.
Will their roots and identity survive in the midst of an overwhelming foreign environment?
Surrounded by a Christian world and the culture of Latin America, the sons of the immigrants are unable to withstand the forces of assimilation that sweep them towards their disintegration as Jews.
The scope of the book goes beyond the story of the characters. Transcending the plot is the story of the birth of a Jewish community in a South American town. Lárida is “a bustling city of more than a million inhabitants” that the fact-checking reader won’t find in the map, but yet, a city whose Jewish community sprang up in much the same way as those of Caracas, Lima or Bogotá.

Snippet from the Preface, “My Opposite Epiphany”:
My whole life I’ve done everything wrong.
I am, without a doubt, the absolute last person in the world you should be listening to… about anything. But especially about accomplishing goals. I couldn’t be more of a failure if I tried.
When I say that I’ve always done everything wrong I don’t mean I’ve been a bad person, although I’ve definitely been a moody and reclusive one too much of the time, which has ruined a lot for me. But wrong in the sense that I’ve instinctually always done the opposite of what is needed to succeed.
