NOOOO! Please don’t send me back to Junior High!!! What? I only have five minutes to find the class, and the classes are 8 minutes long then it’s off to find the next class? What if I get lost? I will fall behind and will never be able to catch up. You’re giving me a map? I am terrible at reading maps. (bell rings…the race is on). Why isn’t my best friend in any of my classes??? AAAAHHHHH!!! That was actually my night last night. It was Back to School Night at my oldest baby basset’s new junior high school. All by myself, I speed walked (because there is no running in the halls) from class to class, gripping tight to a class schedule and a map. I will neither confirm nor deny that a child might have been stepped on by me when I was racing between science and wood shop classes. I was freaking out on the inside, but everyone else was calmly walking around the halls, smiling and chatting with friends. I, on the other hand, spent the evening trying to find classes that were never right next to each other. Nope…they were always clear across on the other side of the campus. Why did I wear sandals? Speed-walking shoes would have made my life a lot easier. Not great, but easier. All I needed to complete the look was a huge backpack, that for reasons unknown, was still not big enough to fit my unicorn Trapper Keeper. Yikes!!
