Halloween is right around the corner, and you know what that means. Horror movies I won’t watch. Oh.. but I will act just like the first person who gets killed in the horror movie. At 3:30 this morning I heard strange noises coming from the attic, so naturally I went up there…alone…in the dark (except for the lights I turned on, but I want to keep it dramatic)…with nothing to protect myself with, because I was too asleep to think I might be in danger. Yup, poked my head right up into that attic like I didn’t have a care in the world. Perfect kind of prey for an attic monster. Little easy midnight snacky snack. If you could have seen me, you would have screamed, “NOOOO!!!!! HE/It/ THEY ARE RIGHT THERE!!!” We have been gone for a few days camping, so just about any monster could have moved in during that time and made themselves at home. This stuff doesn’t occur to me until way after the fact. I really gotta step up my survival instincts game. I should have grabbed a bat or a can of Raid. Nope. I just stuck my head up there to give the monster an easy meal. I can only get away with this kind of behavior in September, but come October it’s a no no. Maybe I should leave myself little sticky notes on the doors and attic entrances to beware of man eating goblins. That won’t freak out my baby bassets, right?
