The good news is, we were not eaten by land jumping sharks while we were at the beach yesterday. The other good news is I learned that my friend and I like long walks on the beach. This is good news because we went on a three mile long walk along the shark buffet. The kids may have walked triple that amount with all the running around they were doing. I have lived in California all of my life and I have never taken such a long walk on the beach before. Never one to miss an opportunity to be weird, while everyone else was collecting shells, I was collecting seaweed. I am actually hoping to use it as plant fertilizer. I saw one of the presenters on my favorite garden show, Gardeners World, make seaweed fertilizere. If they say it’s great, it must be true. The back deck smell so badly of sun baking seaweed that this is one experiment I can put off for long. YUCK!
