I am going rabbit hunting this morning. Don’t worry, it is not as violent as it sounds. I am just done with Easter decorations and need to pack up all the bunnies I put in every single corner of my house. I am pretty sure I stopped buying bunnies a few years ago, but they seem to be multiplying. They are true to their reputation. Also, tomorrow afternoon I leave for a trip to Tucson Arizona, and I certainly don’t need to come back to a house that is overrun with even more bunnies. Although that doesn’t sound too bad. Cute little hippity hops everywhere. Until the poop comes. Oh man… that would be so much poop. Never mind.

LESSONS FROM PHILIPPIANS: THE CHRISTIAN STRUGGLE FOR AUTHENTICITY AND JOY
by Andy Ripley
Genre: Religion & Spirituality
FREE for a limited time
Paul’s letter to the Philippians is rich with wisdom and direction for our time. We learn so much in its few pages about the purpose of Christian suffering. We see God’s hand pulling all the levers and strings behind the scenes, sovereignly directing all that befalls His people. And we see the glorious results as the gospel is more widely preached. Paul writes the epistle from prison in Rome, while he waits to see if he will be executed or set free. We see in the letter many of the real-life difficulties that believers face in the battles for humility, righteousness and obedience. The great Apostle warns us of many of the pitfalls and traps which the world presents to those who would follow Jesus Christ. We see the familiar struggles that we all face as strangers in a fallen world. We see what it takes to make the right efforts to be authentic and real with God. We see the truth about what we must let go of in order to more fully grab onto Jesus Christ. And we see the great need, both in Paul’s days and in our own time, for bold, selfless Christian leadership among us. The over-arching theme of Paul’s letter to the Philippians is the joy that sustains God’s people through all of their appointed trials. Thank God for this short but powerful book which encourages, directs and sustains us.

She knows monsters are real because she is one. But how long can she hide the truth?
Secrets are a dragon’s best friend. Deception is a close second. Both provide a sturdy armor, allowing half-dragon shapeshifter, Dahlia Nite, to live undetected among the humans. Walking in two worlds, belonging in neither, she wraps herself in a shroud of lies to hide in plain sight. But nothing stays hidden forever.
When dismembered bodies of multiple species are dumped on the riverbank, the case falls to Dahlia and Detective Alex Creed. Backed by Sentinel City’s new task force, the pair find themselves urged along by clues that seem too good to be true. Bouncing from one crime scene to the next, they hunt for a clear motive in a murky sea of conflicting evidence. Already on edge from the recent string of unexplained crimes, the city begins to unravel.
Drowning in missing creatures, slaughtered remains, masked men — and the search for her sidekick’s missing sister — Dahlia burns the candle at both ends. Seeking answers, she employs her empathic abilities, and uncovers something deeper and more sinister than a simple serial killer’s web. As the dots connect, and worlds collide, she struggles to shields her friends from the truth. But secrets can be deadly. And Dahlia’s not the only one who keeps them.
