That certainly wasn’t the reaction I expected from myself. Last week I was at the thrift store, and the cashier was ringing up the little treasures that I found. To my surprise, she asked me if I was eligible for the senior discount. That is the first time I have ever been asked that. Out of the blue a voice behind me cheerfully chimed in, “I AM!!!” I looked back and saw a very beautiful young looking woman. NO WAY she was a senior. Forties maybe. Is forties considered senior now? I got all excited and turned to the cashier and asked her what age was senior these days. She replied with 55. OH DRAT! That! That right there is the shocking reaction. I was disappointed I couldn’t get the senior discount. Mind you the lady asking me was a senior, not a teenager, so I wasn’t offended that she asked. If it was a teen asking I would have lost my marbles and cried in the car. Probably would have picked up a gallon of ice cream and a six pack of beer as well. If I buy those things on a weekday afternoon it’s bad news. On the weekend though its all good. Anywho, I just thought that was interesting.
