How absolutely strange. Last summer I had about ten or so Swallowtail butterflies go into their chrysalis form and that is where they stayed all through Fall and Winter. I left them in the butterfly habitats and put them in a closet for protection. Well, one has emerged! Yes, it makes sense and all, but it’s still crazy to think they had been in a closet all this time. A few weeks ago I put them out on the deck when the weather turned nice, they now they are starting to emerge. It’s just cool. Nature is fun.

Hey guys, I’m Kat Crowe, and I wanna tell you about the time I spent in California which ended abruptly when someone was murdered in my store.

Maybe moving out west from Arkansas wasn’t the best move. But before everything went south, I had a lot of fun tending my magical plants and catching some waves in my spare time. I never imagined things could go so wrong. Or that I’d find myself caught up in a mystery where everyone was a suspect.

Now I don’t think of myself as an amateur sleuth, but there was no getting around the fact that I had skin in the game. So it was up to me to crack the case, or my life would be left in ruins. I’d love to tell y’all who did it… but you’ll have to read the book to find out!

If you enjoy paranormal cozy mysteries with a horticultural twist, this introductory story for Trouble Down Under should be just the ticket.

Single dad Rob Jameson’s life revolves around four things: his faith, his daughter Brynn, his job as fire chief, and the rest of his family. Throw in a rookie on the force causing problems and a whole host of issues with Brynn’s mother, and he barely has time to even consider romance.

Lexi Grant blazes into town fueled by anger over the wrongful imprisonment of her uncle and the simultaneous loss of her job and apartment. When she stomps into the police station to speak to the detective assigned to the case, she stops short at the sight of her college flame and one great heartbreak.

Rob and Lexi’s relationship burned with the feelings they had for one another, but their explosive ending aided by the failure to reckon with their own pasts nearly broke them both. Now, Lexi’s back in Magnolia Island for the foreseeable future and comes face to face with a precocious little girl with her daddy’s eyes. She doesn’t know what to think, but their hearts pull them together the same way they did in college. Can time really heal all wounds, or are there some loves you just never get over?

Flames of Faith is a second-chance story of faith, romance, family, and the beauty God can bring about from our brokenness and pain. It is the second in a five book series, with each individual book following one of the Jameson siblings in their lives and loves. There is an overarching plot line that will span the whole series, but each individual book will have its own happy and satisfying ending.

Animal Farm
by George Orwell
4.7 Stars (64,458 Reviews)
Genre: Thrillers

FREE for a limited time

Animal Farm is a beast fable, in the form of a satirical allegorical novella, by George Orwell, first published in England on 17 August 1945. It tells the story of a group of farm animals who rebel against their human farmer, hoping to create a society where the animals can be equal, free, and happy. Ultimately, the rebellion is betrayed, and under the dictatorship of a pig named Napoleon, the farm ends up in a state as bad as it was before.

According to Orwell, Animal Farm reflects events leading up to the Russian Revolution of 1917 and then on into the Stalinist era of the Soviet Union. Orwell, a democratic socialist, was a critic of Joseph Stalin and hostile to Moscow-directed Stalinism, an attitude that was critically shaped by his experiences during the Barcelona May Days conflicts between the POUM and Stalinist forces during the Spanish Civil War. [a] In a letter to Yvonne Davet, Orwell described Animal Farm as a satirical tale against Stalin (“un conte satirique contre Staline”), and in his essay “Why I Write” (1946), wrote that Animal Farm was the first book in which he tried, with full consciousness of what he was doing, “to fuse political purpose and artistic purpose into one whole”.

A Long Way From Nowhere: A Couple’s Journey on the Continental Divide Trail
by Julie Urbanski, Matt Urbanski
4.1 Stars (803 Reviews)
Genre: Sports & Outdoors | Travel

FREE for a limited time

What is it like to hike the length of the Continental Divide Trail? For Matt and Julie, also known as Optimist and Stopwatch, life on the trail meant twenty-seven days without seeing another hiker, six bears encountered within fifteen hours, two sets of maps, a GPS, and a compass to find the trail, and both wildfires and massive flooding to add to the adventure. Hiking the trail also meant a dramatic shift in perspective, a strengthening of love and friendship, and a redefining of the journey.

This is the story of the couple’s 3,000 mile walk on the Continental Divide Trail, through New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana. Both Optimist and Stopwatch play a role in narrating the story, revealing how differently they both think and act in the face of challenges but also how well they work together to complement each other.

Few people know about the Continental Divide Trail and even fewer have hiked the entire length of it, creating an air of mystery surrounding the trail. Optimist and Stopwatch explore the many layers of the trail life on the Continental Divide Trail as they make their way over desolate terrain, eventually finding solace in the very aspects of the trail that made them question their desire to ever take on such a challenge.
