Well there is a feeling I haven’t experienced in a very long time. I just dropped off my sweet pup Rosy off at her first day of daycare. She wasn’t too happy the moment we entered the place. First thing she did was poop on the rug in front of the check-in counter. That wouldn’t have been so bad, except I didn’t notice she did that so I stepped in it repeatedly while I was filling out forms. Not cool. I was able to clean it up the rug pretty well. Thankfully it rained a bunch last night, so I had plenty of puddles outside to clean my shoes off in. I am very nervous for her. I really hope she makes a few friends.

A beautiful novel with strong female characters, a horrible husband, an incorrigible ex and an adorably decent man. A story about stressful lives and new beginnings, with a delicious mash up of mystery, drama and romance, set in the gorgeous Northumberland scenery.
Charlotte is a young lawyer living in London, with the world at her feet. She has a luxury flat, a sports car and plenty of money, yet she is unhappy and the job that she used to love now gives her panic attacks. On the advice of her doctor, she takes some time off work to de-stress and hires a cottage in a small coastal village of Warkworth, Northumberland.
But will the lack of wi-fi and London conveniences cause her even more stress?
Linda, a resident of Warkworth, is a middle-aged woman who has never had a career, never travelled out of the country and lives under the control of her violent and abusive husband. When her husband goes missing, an over-zealous police officer begins to suspect that she is hiding something and is determined to arrest her for his murder.
As Linda struggles to convince him of her innocence, the two women cross paths and help each other in a way that neither of them would have predicted and, although their characters couldn’t be more different, they forge an unlikely friendship, despite the 20 year age gap.
