We always were planning on ending our big RV trip in Crater Lake. Hubby had told me about how absolutely stunning it was. He hadn’t been there in over 20 years and really wanted us to see it. We had booked two nights so that we had enough time to explore the whole park. We got here yesterday in the early afternoon and set up the RV. We then packed the whole family, including the pups, and headed to the park. The first lookout we stopped in had the perfect view of the fire. Ugh! More fire? I think it was about 18 miles away and contained, so there was nothing to worry about. But the smoke was going to be an issue. We continued on through the park, and enjoyed the stunning views of the lake. It was amazing. Because of my fear of cliffs and heights I drove the whole time so the family could enjoy the views. Even though I was scared, I stilled enjoyed the park when we were at lookout points. It just took me a little longer than the others to get to the edge. We only made it about a third of the way around the park. I would have gone all the way around, but hubby and the boys seemed done with it. I think we are tired. It has been a long trip and the constant smoke that has followed us this entire trip might be getting to us. Don’t get me wrong. It was a lot of fun and I am already planning the next trip. Maybe the Southwest?
