So far my Christmas wish list consists of all Legos. I got the Holiday catalog in the mail yesterday, and I just about lost my marbles. I was quick to grab a sharpie, settle down on the couch under a cozy blanket, and started circling all the sets I wanted to find under the tree Christmas morning. Hubby said he wasn’t into buying Legos for Christmas this year. Hubby is going to find coal under the tree. BA HUMBUG! Going through the catalog brought back that awesome feeling of getting the Toys R Us catalog when I was a kid. I am pretty sure it was Toys R Us… maybe it was Kay Bee Toys. It was so awesome circling all the stuff you wanted. I am pretty sure the first baby basset that moves out will have their room turned into a display room for Legos and plants.

At first Isabella suspects Prince Ernest, a hardened general, and next in line to the throne. Or is it John Conroy, a powerful schemer, in love with Alix’s beautiful spendthrift mother, and desperate to get his hands on Alix’s inheritance? Either way, Isabella’s feelings of responsibility for Alix and her loyalty to the gang who saved her life, are tearing her apart. Instead of taking advantage of Alix, will Isabella puts her own needs aside and cast herself into mortal danger to save her friend? Only the harsh lessons of Isabella’s past can help her decide if she should leave Alix to her fate – a fate tied up with Isabella’s own. But when a gruesome murder occurs at the plantation, bearing all the hallmarks of Niall’s formidable skills, the local sheriff and townspeople deem him the prime suspect. Only Clarice and Andrew Wade stand by him.

But the murders continue, each more horrific than the last, leaving him no choice but to hunt down a killer whose next victim might be the woman Niall loves.

From the mysterious forests of Kentucky to a war-torn Virginia plantation, A Devil of a Time weaves a tale of courage, betrayal, and forbidden love, of a driven man grappling with a demon from his past, and the remarkable woman destined to change all their lives forever.

MATURE CONTENT: This novel borders on American Gothic, with dark themes, a strong romantic element, and integral violence that some readers might find disturbing.
