So I tried to do the whole leave it all alone and let wild life enjoy your yard without being disturbed method. Don’t clear all the leaves on the ground and leave the spent plants alone. I got as far as Christmas, but after that I couldn’t take it anymore. I want to enjoy the garden year round and I absolutely hated the way it looked. Selfish? Maybe. But the soggy wet leaves that were slimy and slippery were grossing me out. I did wait for all the seeds to be either eaten or spread back on the ground from the spent flowers, so I get points for that. Clearing it all out was worth it though. I love walking through the garden in the morning to see whats new and make plans for the warmer months. No ideas have popped into my head just yet, but maybe a few quiet moments sitting in the garden will inspire me.

They thought the professional ballet world was tough. Then they tried parenting.
From the author of Outside the Limelight — named a Kirkus Best Book of 2017 — comes a story about parenting, the performing arts, surviving high school and fighting back, in this gripping finale to the Ballet Theatre Chronicles.
Katrina Devries, having navigated the cutthroat world of professional ballet to arrive at the top, has found the perfect life as a principal dancer and mother of a three-year-old. But when her partner announces he’s found true love elsewhere and moves out, Katrina’s perfect world begins to crack. Devastated, she turns to April, her best friend among the company’s artistic staff.
April, a seasoned ballet master and parent, is confident she can solve any problem thrown her way and plants a distraction at the studios: a handsome young pianist, eager for work as an accompanist. Only it’s April’s teen daughter, not Katrina, who falls for him, hard.
Now April’s dealing with new, tougher problems on the home front and at the studios, where a celebrity choreographer’s ballet featuring Katrina borders on disturbing. When he and his ballet display violence — toward Katrina — April must make a controversial decision that upends protocol and imperils the careers both she and Katrina have worked a lifetime to build.
Other Stages chronicles the behind-the-scenes challenges of professional ballet, parenting and friendships, amid the journey of learning what to accept and when to fight back for what’s right.

Genre: Teen & Young Adult

Her rare blood type sealed her fate as a vampire hunter in Alaska. Now eighteen-year-old Aurora Sky must evade the biggest threat of all… a forbidden love.
If there’s one thing I want, it’s to get off of this iceberg. I’m thinking college on the East Coast. ANYWHERE besides Alaska.
Then a near-fatal car wreck changes everything. Government agents jump in and save my life in exchange for my services as a vampire hunter. Did they just say vampires? Yep. And they’re not the kind that sparkle. They’re rabid, disgusting, rude… and way too suave. Those are the ones I really have to watch out for.
A knife isn’t my only weapon. My rare blood type sends vampires into temporary paralysis right before I have to finish the job by hand. Basically, I’m a glorified chew toy.
Now I’m stuck with an overzealous partner, a group of suck junkies, and a maddening attraction to Mr. Joe Cool, dresses all in black, Fane Donado. Clearly, he’s keeping secrets of his own.
The old Aurora is gone forever. Destroyed in the wreckage. I don’t know who I am anymore, only that I suddenly have intense cravings and a V.I.P. pass into Alaska’s underworld.
If vampires found out who I worked for it would be lights out forever. In the meantime, I have some undead ass to kick so long as it doesn’t kick mine first.

Let me set the scene for you. I’m Danny T. Drunk, Jr., a Kansas City cop who got screwed over by love, life, and now, murder charges. My ex-fiancée cheated on me, but guess what? I took the honeymoon anyway. Figured I’d drown my sorrows in rum and sunshine on Paradise Isle. Solid plan, right?
Wrong. First night here, there’s a dead guy in my room, and now everyone — cops, killers, and one drop-dead gorgeous woman — thinks I’m mixed up in it.
Spoiler Alert: I’m not.
But good luck convincing anyone of my innocence when I’m stumbling around in flip-flops and bottomless strawberry margaritas.
I’ve got to play detective to save my own skin. And while I might not be the world’s sharpest investigator, I’ve got guts, charm, and a retired old guy named Al backing me up. Between dodging bullets, cracking codes, and trying not to get distracted by a femme fatale with a mean right hook, I might just solve this thing. Or die trying.
Paradise, huh? Turns out, it’s not all coconuts and sunsets.
Rated R for crude language and sexual innuendos. Rated A+ for entertainment value.

FROM THE PURGE, A NEW BEGINNING.
It’s been six years since a terrifying breed of seemingly unkillable creatures emerged from the darkness to topple the unprepared governments of the world, in the process knocking mankind down the food chain.
Survivors called it The Purge.
A few brave souls rose from the ashes of the old world to fight back, often against overwhelming odds. Led by indomitable heroes, they risked everything to achieve a final, stunning victory over the supernatural “ghouls” in The Battle of Houston.
Five years later, what remains of the ghouls have fled back into the shadows, and humanity now resides in isolated communities in relative peace. But human ambition and greed have also survived, and with no laws to stop those willing to pursue them, it’s every man for himself.
Keo, one of the unknown heroes of The Battle of Houston, has found serenity in a small town in Texas. But he will discover that a violent past is not so easily cast aside when a madman rises to dominate those around him, and in the process shatters Keo’s new life.
It’s a brave new world, but monsters still exist — and thrive. And where there are evil deeds, good people must rise to stem the tide… on the Road to Babylon.
