I had a few friends over last night and this morning I woke up to a very impressive mess that flows through three rooms. I am looking at it and I can’t get the smile off my face. A night of laughing so hard your chest hurts, darn good food, and even a private concert by a good friend who is an amazing musician make it all worth it. The sound of the horn playing such beautiful music in my home was an incredible treat. I gotta figure out a way to lure him back in my house again. I think food is the best way. First though, I gotta clean a few things up.
Buck Fever (Blanco County Mysteries Book 1)

Buck Fever: It’s the week before deer hunting season, as close to a statewide holiday as you get in Texas, and the locals are getting restless. Game Warden John Marlin has his hands full with poaching complaints coming in faster than he can write out-of-season tickets. Then a call of a different sort comes in. A man dressed up in some sort of deer costume has been shot at the Circle S ranch, and witnesses are reporting a massive wild-eyed buck prancing about the pasture in a lovesick frenzy. Marlin’s seen a lot in his years, but this is wilder than he could have imagined: the man in the deer suit is a good friend, and the whacked-out whitetail isn’t exactly a stranger either. It’s the beginning of a mad, frantic weekend in Blanco County, one that will see a few more men shot, an invasion by Colombians with more than hunting on their minds, and damn near the end of Marlin’s life. Ben Rehder serves it all up with a huge helping of humor in this debut comic mystery that will firmly establish him as the funniest crime writer in Texas.

I’m never going back.
When I left my nowhere, Podunk hometown of Hamletville, I swore I’d never return. I loved my life in D.C. I had a great job at the Smithsonian, a cozy place in Georgetown, and the hot German guy at work finally asked me on a date. Everything was going perfectly. Until it wasn’t.
Nothing could make me go back, except her. My grandmother had raised me, looking after me when my mom ran off with the town drunk. Even though everyone thought Grandma was a witch, she was the most important person in the world to me. When Grandma called and told me to come home, I put the lights of the Capitol in my rearview mirror.
The flu pandemic sweeping the nation was turning into something more, something beyond dangerous. The spirits had warned Grandma, and in the process, had saved my life.
You see, the dead are rising. And someone needs to stop them.
It’s all fun and games until someone ends up undead.
See how New York Times best-selling author Melanie Karsak puts a unique spin on the end of the world, combining urban fantasy and zombies in this award-winning series. Begin the complete Harvesting Series with The Harvesting, Book 1.

Geronimo was a prominent leader and medicine man from the Bedonkohe band of the Chiricahua Apache tribe. From 1850 to 1886 Geronimo joined with members of three other Chiricahua Apache bands — the Tchihende, the Tsokanende and the Nednhi — to carry out numerous raids as well as resistance to US and Mexican military campaigns in the northern Mexico states of Chihuahua and Sonora, and in the southwestern American territories of New Mexico and Arizona. Geronimo’s raids and related combat actions were a part of the prolonged period of the Apache-United States conflict, which started with American settlement in Apache lands following the end of the war with Mexico in 1848.

Genre: Romance

When I’m broken and nothing seems to make any sense, I go back to the ranch, to my beautiful Jessie. Jess… fixes me, makes me whole again.
Those were the words written in Adam’s journal shortly before he died. His twin brother, Mitch, has never met Jessie, but believes she must be a very special woman to glue his brother back together time after time. Now it is up to Mitch to tell her that Adam is gone, that he will never again return to her waiting arms. He doesn’t want to be the one to break her heart, but what choice does he have?
On the drive to Jessie’s ranch, Mitch devises a way they can both put closure on Adam’s death. Posing as Adam will give Jessie one last time with him. Mitch can give her the memories she deserves, let her hear the words Adam should have spoken to her when he had the chance. And in the process, maybe Jessie can ease some of the ache in his own heart.
It is a simple plan; give Jessie a lifetime of memories, mend his own broken heart, then leave and send word of Adam’s death. But the moment Mitch arrives at the ranch, his plan begins to fall apart. Jessie is everything his brother said she was, everything Mitch could ever hope for in a woman. Now he must spend the rest of his life pretending to be Adam, or tell Jessie the truth and risk losing her forever.
