I had a gift card for See’s Candy, so yesterday I went to the store to pick up a few chocolates as gifts for people. The smell of that store is intoxicating. I requested my sample and went about doing a bit of shopping. When I went to the register to pay for my items the lovely lady who worked there rang up my order and included a See’s Candy tin in my bag. I asked what it was, because I hadn’t purchased it. She said it was free with purchase. I got so excited. I couldn’t wait to see what chocolates it included. When I got to my car I grabbed the tin out of the bag like a savage. It was light as a feather. Empty. I experienced a sadness that day that still hurts this morning. (heavy sigh)
