Two words… Pumpkin Trellis! I am in full garden mode and I am going to trellis my pumpkins. They take over the yard so badly the pup has to burrow a tunnel to get to his yard, so this year the pumpkins are off the ground. I think the idea is brilliant, and I can say that because it’s not my idea. I have the trellis up already and it currently has a few branches of grape vines growing across it. I am just going to plant the pumpkins and let them battle it out for space. I am going a little more hardcore in the garden this year. No more babying.

This is book 1 in the Hide Me Series. It has a slightly paranormal aspect and is darker than my previous books – with definite thriller overtones.
Katerina Holloway’s life is finally coming together. With a new job as a Paramedic and new opportunity ahead of her, she’s relieved to know that worrying about finances will be a thing of the past. But ending one part of her life to begin another, doesn’t go as planned.
When she is confronted with haunting images that seem to be coming from the mind of a serial killer, Katerina’s life is sent into a tailspin. Nothing makes sense and the visions keep reoccurring.
A forced outing with her best friend adds another layer to Katerina’s already full plate. A handsome stranger with a troubled soul is instantly attracted to her, but Katerina is still reeling from all that is happening to her and has no interest in dating a cop.
Running from the potential for love is quickly proven to be futile. That handsome man will no longer be a stranger and moving past their doubts will only be the beginning of all that they will have to endure.
Suspense Thriller level: High. Heat Level: Moderate. Some swearing. 18+ Cliffhanger to the next book in the series (but this storyline is finished first)

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (Illustrated)
Mark Twain
(922 Reviews)
Genre: Classics | Coming of Age | Historical Fiction | Literary Fiction | United States
FREE for a limited time
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (or, in more recent editions, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn) is a novel by Mark Twain, first published in the United Kingdom in December 1884 and in the United States in February 1885. Commonly named among the Great American Novels, the work is among the first in major American literature to be written throughout in vernacular English, characterized by local color regionalism. It is told in the first person by Huckleberry “Huck” Finn, a friend of Tom Sawyer and narrator of two other Twain novels (Tom Sawyer Abroad and Tom Sawyer, Detective). It is a direct sequel to The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
The book is noted for its colorful description of people and places along the Mississippi River. Set in a Southern antebellum society that had ceased to exist about twenty years before the work was published, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is an often scathing satire on entrenched attitudes, particularly racism.

Genre: Horror | Fantasy

A Cherokee curse and a hunger for success wreak havoc in this ambitious supernatural tale. The bright spots of true suspense will satisfy readers looking for a grim, inventive thriller. – Kirkus Reviews
You will enjoy every minute that you’re reading this book—the characters, the settings, the battles between man and nature, and, of course, that magical realism. With all these elements, this still is a thriller, a real page-turner. Moreover, it’s a very original piece of literature that will leave you thinking…and wondering. – Bookpleasures.com Review
Set in the mountains of Georgia, Poisoned Soil is a harrowing, cinematic story of greed and retribution that follows Blake Savage, a ruined football star who risks everything for a chance to make his fortune. When an egocentric restaurateur offers Blake fame and fortune to produce an illegal delicacy for his exclusive network of secret supper clubs, Blake enters a gilded world. But when the foodies take their first bites of the illicit delicacy an ancient disease resurfaces, unleashing a trail of black death.
A shockingly real drama about how greed entices otherwise good people to make bad decisions, Poisoned Soil appeals to adult readers who enjoy realistic thrillers in the style of Stephen King. For readers who like Barbara Kingsolver’s agrarian prose and Garcia Marquez’s magical realism, Poisoned Soil weaves a rich Appalachian tapestry and brings the natural world to life through the eyes of a remarkable family held captive on cursed Cherokee land. A very relevant story in this day and age of TEOTWAWKI.
