The turkeys are back! While driving home with my two baby bassets we saw the flock of turkeys that originally had about ten turkeys, but after Thanksgiving dwindled down to only three. I do not know what happened to the other turkeys, but I am pretty sure you can hunt turkey downtown. The flock was back up to ten or so, maybe even more. My oldest basset and I cheered that they were all safe and back together. It was my youngest basset that chimed in with a more plausible explanation. He pointed out that they were most likely new turkeys and not the original ones. The cheers in the car dropped with a thud. I was just about to call him Eeyore, but a squirrel crossed right in front of my car and ran up a tree. We all screamed, SQUIRREL!!! Happiness was restored to the car.

Enchantment’s Reach
Martin Ash
(42 Reviews)
Genre: Fantasy | Metaphysical
FREE for a limited time
Enchantment’s Reach lies close upon the mysterious land of Enchantment, from where strange energies seep, carried on unnatural breezes. Subtle ‘magic’ resides in the air, in the land, and deep in the minds of its inhabitants. The Reach is being torn apart from both inside and out. From the southwest have come the Karai, an unfathomable warrior race, not wholly human, whose army now gathers close to the border. The Karai are conspiring, it appears, with powerful entities who dwell in Enchantment itself, commanding advanced technologies and believed to have the powers of deities. Yet neither the Karai nor these enigmatic beings of Enchantment have previously been known to interfere directly in the affairs of lesser species. What do they seek from the Reach? Further perils menace the small kingdom. Internal as well as external conflicts threaten its King, Leth, his young queen, Issul, and the people of the Reach. Ancient religious factions are resurgent, fanatical cults revive ancient feuds and rise to threaten the realm. And from somewhere deep within Enchantment’s Reach itself a mysterious creature appears, a being from some other dimension, seeming secretly to wield unusual influence over Leth. Ahead lie intrigues both human and otherworldly, and desperate quests in which, together and individually, Issul and Leth discover their world is not as they had perceived it. In lands of feuding ‘godlings’ and deep within pre-conscious creation, they encounter previously unknown dimensions, extraordinary conflicts, and a troubled universe awakening to its true nature. Enchantment’s Reach is an epic, visionary saga, brimming with secrets and revelations, with mysteries enigmatic and profound. It is simultaneously an enquiry deep into the nature of existence, of experience and knowledge, belief, desire and treachery, and of scheming ‘gods’ and desperate humans, all with a narrative power that will hold the reader enthralled from beginning to end.
