Well! I guess I was the problem because hubby drove my oldest baby basset to take his drivers test and he PASSED!!!! YAY!!! He passed the test and said it was by far harder than the first time. Apparently the person administering the test was very scary and my baby was sure he failed in the first five minutes. In all of the excitement we decided that it was time to buy him a car. The whole family packed into the minivan and drove to a few used car lots. I had to drive though because my son was too tired from taking the test to drive. That’s weird. He also refused to drive home after taking the test. Weirder. So we were out looking at cars, sitting in them, wiggling around in the seats, checking out the windows, ya know… car stuff. But my baby basset just wasn’t interested. Turns out he really doesn’t want a new (used) car, he just wants to drive the minivan. WHAT??? Yup. He prefers the minivan. What kid wants a minivan? It’s not like he can take any friends with him. He can’t have riders for a full year! I am at the age now when I just don’t understand kids today. OUCH!

World War II. During the attacks on Berlin in the winter of 1943-44, wave after wave of British bombers swept over northern Europe and dropped their lethal loads on the German capital. A fair percentage of the bombers would fail to return from these operations, and RAF planners calculated the life expectancy of the airmen in weeks rather than months.
Therefore it did not seem strange when a Lancaster named D-Daisy landed at its base in England after a bombing run, and a member of the crew was found dead.
However, one person soon came to the conclusion that this man had been murdered. And the person who discovered this happened to be blind since birth. Her name was Daisy and she was the victim’s wife. She was very blonde and very pretty; also very young. Therefore, no one would listen to her. So she was going to have to find the murderer on her own.
An unusual sleuth Daisy Hayes was born in London in 1922. Her father was a bank manager, hoping for a son, but he had to settle for a blind daughter.
Now what do you do when your child is blind since birth and you have the means to do all that is necessary to help her? You hire a private tutor to stimulate her verbal abilities in the first years of her life, because you realize how vital language will become for her. Then you send her to an exclusive school where everything is done to develop the minds and resourcefulness of blind girls. There they teach them all these fancy techniques of spatial orientation and mind mapping. And before you know it, your darling daughter has acquired an exceptional intellect that just seems to draw murder mysteries like a magnet…

Start the series that readers say “is an easy series to get addicted to!”
For years, Lucy Wyndham wondered whether she’d ever catch another glimpse of the boy she crushed on as a teenager at the Chesapeake Inn’s summer camp for disadvantaged kids. He was tall and quiet… mysterious and aloof… and oh so gorgeous.
Also the owner’s son. Not the slightest bit disadvantaged.
Fast forward… now Sterling Matthew runs the Chesapeake Inn and is Lucy’s (grumpy) boss. He’s still tall, aloof, and oh so gorgeous. Ten years later, the attraction between them is just as strong — but they’re no more compatible today than they were as teenagers.
Nor do they share the same views of the summer camp. When Sterling informs Lucy that the camp must be eliminated to improve the resort’s bottom line, she embarks on an ambitious campaign to save it. Even if the price is her job… and her heart.

Still, when the opportunity arises to join the Resistance, she readily accepts, vowing to do everything she can to help her countrymen, no matter what the cost.
When her old lover, Henri Déricourt, returns to Paris to ask Julienne Aisner to assist him in his new position with the SOE, she jumps at the chance.
