Happy Monday! We have been camping all weekend with friends and family and I have enjoyed myself a bit too much. I woke up this morning full of guilt and regret. The first thing I thought when I got up was I am swearing off sugar for good. I have a cookie next to me as I type, so apparently I couldn’t make it even two minutes. Although it does not have frosting on it, so I technically consider it a breakfast biscuit. After I send off these awesome books I picked out for you all, I am going to start packing up the trailer. I always giggle when I do this. Most of the time I start packing before anyone is awake. This means I am stealing their blankets and pillows while they are still using them. I have an order in which I do things and if that means taking the pillow from under a sleeping head, so be it. In our camping group it seems each family has one person like this. On the last day one person from each family is up super early, packing stuff up and trying to get out of the campsite first. Nobody screams “I WIN” when they finish first, but I do in my head. I think they do to.

Life in a small town can be murder…
Meet Carly Keene. She’s a professional photographer, part-time bakery employee, and a small town girl who loves everything about her hometown, until she discovers that there’s a murderer on the loose.
Parker’s Mill has a killer in its midst. The sleepy little Georgia town is full of quirky characters, but one of them is a stone-cold killer. When Carly discovers the body of one of her photography clients in his bathtub, fully clothed and snuggled up to a space heater in the dead of summer, she knows something’s not right.
The dead guy had some secrets. One of which just happens to be a secret love child, and another is a redhead who smokes too much, which wouldn’t be a problem if he hadn’t been engaged to a brassy blonde with eighties hair and a heck of a mean temper. He also has a gorgeous twin brother who knocks Carly for six when she realizes that she might be falling for him.
Can Carly figure out who really killed Larry Gaston before the cops nab the wrong person? Or will she let his handsome twin wander off into the sunset with one of the dead guy’s former conquests?

Straight Shot: A Tom Keeler Thriller: Book 1
by Jack Lively
(7,711 Reviews)
Genre:
FREE for a limited time
After surviving combat tours in Afghanistan, Iraq, and northern Syria, Tom Keeler receives his discharge from the United States Air-Force special tactics squadron. He’s planning a long vacation, beginning with the town of Alencourt, France, where his mother spent summers as a kid.
Keeler’s in town for less than an hour and three men try to kill him. Nice place, nice try.
Those aren’t the first men who’ve tried to kill Keeler and failed. He could just walk away, get back on the train and take it from there. But Keeler finds himself drawn back to Alencourt. Perhaps it’s the beautiful French policewoman, Cecile Nazari, who tells Keeler that the attack was a case of mistaken identity. Or maybe, it’s the fact that the people who attacked him might be the same people who left his French cousin in a wheelchair.
Or maybe it’s the connection Keeler finds between these attacks and reports of asylum seeking girls from the Middle East going missing in the area.
Whatever the reason, Keeler becomes interested in what’s going on, which isn’t great news for the bad people preying on the weak and defenseless.
They thought they could get away with murder, but they never counted on coming up against Keeler.

Five Days That Shocked the World : Eyewitness accounts from Europe at the end of World War II
by Nicholas Best
(717 Reviews)
Genre: History
FREE for a limited time
‘A gripping account of the last days of World War II… It reads like a thriller, informs like a scholar and is not to be missed.’ – Randall Hansen, author of Fire and Fury: The Allied Bombing of Germany 1942-45
On 28 April 1945 Benito Mussolini was dragged from his mistress’s bed and executed. Just two days later, surrounded by the Soviet Army, Adolf Hitler put a gun to his head and committed suicide. Living through the pivotal five days that saw the war in Europe draw to an end were a collection of individuals who already were, or would go on to be some of the most recognized faces in the world.
Drawing on a wealth of unfamiliar material and first-hand accounts, Nicholas Best tells the compelling tale of those who witnessed the final days of the war in Europe, from Jack Kennedy to Bob Dole, recuperating in an Italian hospital, and Private Henry Kissinger, back on German soil for the first time since his family fled before the war. Racked with depression, Spike Milligan swigged stolen champagne while Audrey Hepburn was starving in Holland. Roman Polanski was playing with grenades in Krakow and a future Pope was on his way home, terrified of being shot for deserting the Wehrmacht.
Blending historical discourse with the thoughts and reactions of both famous and ordinary individuals, Five Days that Shocked the World is an insightful look at the most dramatic 120 hours in history.
