I have been SUMMOND! This week I have jury duty. I actually don’t mind jury duty. The best is when you don’t have to go in until noon, so you don’t have to worry about getting lunch. I know that sounds weird, but I really hate having to leave the place to get lunch. If I actually get picked I would most likely bring my lunch. I would also wear loose fitting pants, so I could maybe stretch or do a few squats during those long waiting periods. Years of picking up my baby basset from school every day has prepared me for this. All those days I had to get to the kids school 30 minutes early just so I could get a good spot out front of the school. Then sitting for 40 minutes because it took the kids ten minutes just to get to the car. Loosing huge chunks out of your day and sitting and waiting is a big part of being a parent. It’s just like jury duty. The only difference is i won’t have to worry about avoiding the parents in the PTA. They always knew they could get me to volunteer for anything.

Sometimes the most challenging situations bring the most happiness…
I’m Cora Fletcher, a twenty-something book-loving public relations executive, living with my overly Zen best friend and my attention-loving cat. I’m newly single and focusing on my exciting career, so I feel like I’m in a good place. I’ve even been invited on an all-expenses-paid Hawaiian vacation! The only catch? It’s a family reunion… and my family can be a lot to handle.

But I’m determined not to let that get in the way. However, the ohana drama starts even before we board the plane. As usual, there’s my sister-in-law, who’s bent on causing friction, the self-centered cousins, and my aunt who loves to party a bit too much. My mom has filled the itinerary with endless activities, and she’s even invited my ex-boyfriend in a misguided attempt to get us back together.

I feel overwhelmed, but then I get a blast from my past that could change my life forever. This is one reunion I did not see coming…
Will I make it through a week of family togetherness? And will I be able to say aloha to someone I thought was out of my life forever?

Love and Ohana Drama is a romantic comedy that explores the challenges of family dynamics and reminds readers that there is always hope for a second chance.
