I put up one of our Christmas trees in the living room. It’s a skinny one that normally goes in the family room, that shows off all the beautiful ornaments the baby bassets have made over the years. I love the handmade decorations. I could stare at them for hours reminiscing about when they would come home from school, so proud of the ornament they made and how delighted they were to hang it on the tree. Throughout the year I always find random red or green beads or macaroni bits in the corners of the room or under the couch. I wonder how many of them were eaten by my pups. Hmm. For now that tree is undecorated in the living room so I can enjoy the Christmas lights a little early. It’s really nice to wake up to the twinkling lights in the morning. So peaceful.
