This is the story of an author facing the ‘write of his life’. He promises murder, mayhem, tears, laughs, and at least two ‘gut punch twists’ within the pages of what will likely be his final work.

As far as unreliable narrators go, John Peachcroft has got it licked. Although what isn’t in any doubt is his lack of success as an author.

Sales of his 10 self-published books have ground to such a halt that his girlfriend has handed him an ultimatum: Stop writing rubbish nobody wants to read, or I’m off.

Somehow Peachcroft manages to negotiate a stay of execution with his beloved, giving him one year to give this being a successful author thing one last crack.

This is the story of that year. A study of desperation and deceit, secrets, lies, madness and a bit more deceit.

It’s a mystery without a murder and a tale with such a twist that you really ought to give yourself a big pat on the back if you see it coming.
