I couldn’t find Jackie anywhere! Yesterday morning I went out to the coop to check on the ladies and make sure they were staying out of the cold rain. As I approached the coop I was happy to see that the run was completely empty. Good, they are staying dry in the coop. I opened the door and counted 1, 2, 3….. Where was Jackie? I looked in the run again and all I found was a huge pile of feathers. Feathers I thought had been from her molting. I checked the bottom section of the coop, no Jackie, just more feathers. I opened the front door again and did another search…NOTHING! I started panicking, I checked the run again..NOTHING! The bottom section… the nest box! Nothing but feathers! By the time I had checked everything three times I was in full freak out..almost to tears. I yelled for Jackie and only heard the sweet chirps of the other ladies. THIEF!! THIEF!! Someone stole my sweet Jackie! Then I looked up in the nest box. Oh…..she was on a high perch. Well…yaaaa. I think I really love these ladies.
