I’m not sure why, but my sweet chicken Jackie needed a hug yesterday. She was on the dog deck, where she knows she is not supposed to be, so I picked her up to move her. Instead of squirming like she always does, she relaxed and shut her eyes. I gave her a little hug and sniggled her a bit. She just seemed so content I couldn’t put her down. Maybe adding the new chicks has worn her out a bit. Maybe she just needed to know I still loved her. I don’t know, but it made for such a pleasant Sunday afternoon moment.

Love Hurts. For Derwena de Caro, songstress, female icon, teenage dream, success brought drugs, alcohol and a philandering boyfriend. It also brought wealth, fame and a stalker, or so she claimed. And that’s where I came in, to investigate the identity of the stalker, little realising that the trail would lead to murder and a scandal that would make the newspaper headlines for months on end. Love Hurts. For me, Samantha Smith, Enquiry Agent, love arrived at the end of a fist. First, I had to contend with an alcoholic mother, who took her frustrations out on me throughout my childhood, then my husband, Dan, who regarded domestic violence as an integral part of marriage. But I survived. I obtained a divorce, kept my sense of humour and retained an air of optimism. I established my business and gained the respect of my peers. However, I was not prepared for Dan when he re-entered my life, or for the affection showered on me by Dr Alan Storey, a compassionate and rather handsome psychologist. Sam’s Song. This is the story of a week that changed my life forever.

History Holds the Key to Understanding the Present.
Do you want to know when the first peace treaty came into play? What about the strange disappearances in the 1500s? Do we really know everything about WWI and WWII? With history channels focusing predominantly on WWI and WWII, we are losing out on the rich history of the previous eras, not to mention some unknown events within the World Wars. This book holds the key to unlocking a world of forgotten events and moments. In this book, you’ll discover a variety of historical events covering the span from the turn of the common era through to WWII. Within this book is a record of events once forgotten or previously unknown that have helped shape history and the world we live in today. History holds the key to understanding the present. Our past explains where we have come from and where we are heading. Although humanity can determine the steps it will take in the future, history often shows us the cycles that humanity repeats. A wise student will see these cycles and learn from them in order to better shape the future. How can we know our history and what shapes us if we have forgotten great historical events and occurrences? To fully understand where we come from and what we have achieved, both great and devastating, we need a more holistic history book. This book attempts to fill in some of those blanks. The historical events listed in this book are not all that have been forgotten, but it is one step closer to fitting the missing puzzle pieces into our already grand puzzle. Within this book’s pages, you’ll find the answers to these questions and more.
Just some of the questions and topics covered include • Late BC to Early AD Years • The Mysterious, the Unknown, and the Trivial • The busy time of the 1700s to the late 1800s • The busy time of the 1700s to the late 1800s • Rebellions and Revolutions (the 1700s to the late 1800s) • The Crimean War and WWI Happenings • The Forgotten History of WWII • And much more!
