I grew up watching the original Planet of the Apes series and I LOVED them. Freaked me out every time, but I always came back for more again and again. Last night I finally watched the second one in the new series reboot, and as much as I would like to stay loyal to the original, this reboot was just so good. I hear the third one is even better. I’m not sure If I will see it in the theater or wait for it to come to video. I get kinda tired peopling too much and it is guaranteed that there will be a lot of people in the theater for this movie. Not to mention the uncontrollable urge to buy a box of $5 frozen Jr. Mints. Here’s the thing though, with such an awesome premise and with CGI technology today, you better make an fantastic movie. If you really want to show true genius, make a movie that doesn’t disappoint about H.R. Pufnstuf. What is his back story? What was he like as a child? How did he really feel about young Jimmy being shipwrecked on his Island, and what was the real reason he wanted him off that island so bad? Was Witchiepoo actually not the bad guy? So many questions.
