I will tell you what joy is. JOY is discovering that your first try at growing potatoes is WORKING!! There are six little specks of green popping out of the dirt. I am validated as a gardener! I would post a picture, but it is cold as heck out there and I am a wimpy California girl that catches a chill in anything below 70 degrees. There could be miracles happening all over my garden, but unless I can see it from my baby basset’s window I haven’t a clue. So until the sun comes out the potato plant is my favorite.
