Today is a big day for me. After all this dieting and exercising ( I jogged three times) I get my special reward of a beauty treatment. I have worked hard, and said no to many MANY cakes. Just last Sunday there were three cakes at one party. A carrot cake, chocolate cake, and a very colorful sheet cake. All of them called for me, and I turned them all down. I even handed out pieces of the birthday cake to small grabby children and got frosting all over my hands. I could have very easily licked it off my hands, but there was the danger of biting my fingers off so I passed.  Just 3 more days.

What’s a girl to do when her imprisoned brother begs her to delve into their father’s sixteen-year-old murder conviction? How about peel back the lies, upend the fairy tales, and roil the populace of Lavitte—a sweet apple of a town with a wormy, festering core? That’s what Allison Fennimore chooses. Despite her infamous surname and people’s wilted memories, this jaded cynic of a daughter sinks her teeth in and refuses to let go. She can practically taste the bitterness of that long-ago, twisted night when two teenagers died, linked to her father by bad luck and a few strands of rope.

Ignoring the dense local atmosphere where image trumps substance and lies become legend, Allison stirs the pot. The more layers she discards, the more elusive the truth becomes. And when a key source of information turns up dead, the dark edges of resentment coil in around her like a slowly tightening noose. As revelations get ugly, Allison may wish she’d never ventured toward the forbidden fruit of truth.

Dreams, wishes, goals, hopes, ambitions, can a “regular” person ever achieve them?

Consider this case: a young stage actor from the Midwest goes to Hollywood to break into movies. A year and a half later, he finally lands his first role playing a bellhop. But as soon as he delivers his line, a powerful studio producer takes him aside and yells, “You ain’t got it, kid. You ain’t got it!”

Some would take this as a sign and give up. Not this young man. He marches forward and works hard to reach his dream, doing carpentry on the side to pay the bills.

His persistence pays off when, ten years later, he gets a game-changing part:Han Solo in Star Wars.

You’ll find the rest of Harrison Ford’s incredible story in Dream It Do It, along with inspiring true tales about other successful dream achievers including Maya Angelou, Bill Nye the Science Guy, and Gloria Estefan.

Read about people who’ve overcome personal obstacles to reach their dreams, including the amputee who becomes a champion skier, the refugee who arrives in the U.S. without a coat or even a dollar in her pocket and now owns 25 nail salons, and a little girl with a passion for airplanes who grows up to become an astronaut.

After learning valuable lessons shared by 37 dream achievers, learn how to revive and go after your own dreams using Dream CPR.

Back to the question, can a regular person ever hope to achieve his or her dreams?

Of course. The people showcased in Dream It Do It are proof. They’re ordinary folks accomplishing the extraordinary. When you resuscitate your long-lost goals and dreams and develop the Ten Essential Elements of Dream CPR, you too can reach your dreams.
