I really had no idea that a chicken’s voice changes. I know they don’t go peep peep all their lives, but I never really thought about them getting an adult cluck cluck. Heather now has a good solid Bawk Bawk and she uses it well. I was impressed and a little sad. My baby Heather is growing up and with her little one, Naughty, she is a very good mom. Little Naughty’s feathers are finally filling out and she is turning into a beautiful chicken, still very small, but at least she looks more like a chicken and less like something the cat dragged in. Speaking of my cat, he would always look at Naughty (who was safely in her pen) with a tilted head and squinty eyes, and never in pounce mode. It was more of a “What the heck is that” look. Now he looks at her straight on. Naughty has to feel better about that.

Fairwood (a suspense mystery thriller)
Eli Yance
4.5 Stars (22 Reviews)
Genre: Mystery, Thriller & Suspense

FREE for a limited time

From the bestselling author of House 23 and Consequence, Fairwood is a noir thriller where crime, punishment and retribution take centre stage.

The Bleak and Bright bandits (a.k.a Dexter and Pandora) wanted money and fame, even though the latter came purely by accident. A modern day Bonnie and Clyde, in it for the adrenaline rush with no intention of murder — that came by accident as well.

Max Cawley is tired of his miserable life, made even more miserable by his succubus wife, his sadistic boss and his retiring partner, but his detective instincts are as switched-on as ever and finding the bandits soon becomes an obsession.

Fairwood is a dark, twisted, suspense story. An intricate, noir thriller with a mystery twist. Not for the faint hearted.
