I overheard my oldest basset  say to his little brother, “Bigfoot is real”.  He said it with such authority that it’s possible he might have spotted one himself recently. We have not yet discussed Bigfoot with out children yet, and I was gonna wait until they were a bit older. Kids grow up so fast and they are learning about Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster younger and younger theses days. It’s hard to keep up.

Hugh Nance used to think his wife whined too much—his three kids were spoiled brats that took everything for granted. Hugh is ten years old.

When an embittered, unremarkable forty-seven-year old man’s life is cut short on an icy highway, he receives the opportunity to try again. Hugh is taken back to 1974—back into the body of his boyhood—with all the memories of his middle-aged life in tow. Three and a half decades must be relived if he is to see his family again. The years have to be repeated carefully, or he may never be reunited with his future wife at all.

The memory of his first family fades as this second life proceeds; old habits kick in, and Hugh scrambles near the end to set things right.

When you last spoke to a dragon, were you polite? Or did you just kick the door in and said in a gravely voice, after introducing yourself:

★YOU’VE KILLED MY HAMSTER. PREPARE TO DIE.★

Knowing you, it was probably the latter. Good, then you can probably guess how the titular story unfolds. But fear not, this book is actually a collection of funny stories, humorous, the “laugh out loud” kind, silly, nonsensical, and upbeat.

✔ You’ve just received an offer to be in charge of the Universe. As jobs go, it’s only about average. But what would you do if it came with an attractive Signing Bonus?

✔ How do you measure your business acumen? Would you be able to sell dog insurance to a cat-food seller lady? If you said “Yes”, let’s move on.

✔ Ninjas for hire are already indispensable in your daily life. There are, however, a few situations when they are doubly so.

✔ People like you for your engaging smile. However, as you are well aware, it is not how you smile. It is how you deal with the consequences of smiling.

…and more!

This is the sort of book you take with you to the DMV, a dentist’s office, or anywhere else you don’t want to be.

P.S. Before you buy this book and start reading it, I would like to leave you with this thought: “Smile” is a powerful word. When shouted in someone’s ear, it can knock them down.

So, let us smile more. Enjoy!
