Okay, keeping it together. This was one of those morning when I woke up in a panic. I had a dream that I ate the Valentines chocolate I got for my baby bassets. I felt bad doing it, but that didn’t stop me. Now get out your dream interpretation books and lets analyze this. What I think it means is I still have time before the kids wake up to eat their chocolate and feel guilty. I am sure there is something left at the store I can buy and give to the kids after school. I bet I will find a few other parents doing the same thing.

Lydia Kalila, the Princess Royal of Mishnah, is forced into marriage with the son of her country's mortal enemy for the sole purpose of producing an heir.Duty comes before personal choice for a princess, especially when her country has been at war for more than a thousand years.Lydia's pregnancy removes her brother and new husband from their respective lines of succession, placing her yet unborn infant at the head of both queues. No one is happy about this, especially Lydia who dies during childbirth from wounds caused by the talon-like toenails of her very strange newborn son.
Grief stricken at the loss of his daughter, the Mishnese King hastily sends Senya, his infant grandson off to a decrepit inner city orphanage with the intent to retrieve him much later when things got sorted out.At the orphanage, Senya is protected by the invalid Sister Meri who instantly falls in love with the little fellow. She's not bothered at all by his strange telekinetic and telepathic powers, flickering pupil-less silver eyes, or wicked clawed toenails. The House Father takes a shine to the lad too, and when Senya is six years old, he is summoned to the Father's chamber. The Father ends up in flames, forcing Meri and Senya out into a snow storm running for their lives.
Thus begins the tale of Senya, a prince created to be king of a planet but tossed aside until his twelfth birthday when Lt. Taner, a Royal Guard detective is sent to retrieve him.It is unclear to all whether Senya is the product of something good or something evil, but in either case, it is very apparent that he is something more than just Lydia Kalila's son.

And Then You Fall (Crested Butte Cowboys Series Book 1)

(54 Reviews)
Genre: Contemporary Fiction | Romance
FREE for a limited time
Set in scenic Colorado, And Then You Fall is about two people who believe themselves undeserving of happiness in love and life, who grow to understand that taking the chance at both is worth it.
Fate put her in his path and he has no intention of ever letting her go.
Liv gave up her dream of being a competitive barrel racer when she was nineteen to follow her great love, Air Force Captain Scott Fairchild, wherever his life took them. When Scott’s F15 is shot down months later, right before the birth of their daughter, Liv’s world is shattered. She returns to her parents’ isolated ranch in Colorado, and raises her daughter as a single parent. Now that Renie is grown and away at college, Liv is bored and cranky. She finds herself spending too much time on social media feeds, cyber-stalking the hot guitar player she met at a concert over the summer.
Ben Rice recognized her as soon as he saw her sitting at the bar. Liv, that was her name, and fate kept putting her in front of him. The first time he saw her, after his band CB Rice opened at Red Rocks, he couldn’t keep his eyes off her. For the next two hours he watched her. She loved music—and she felt it. Not everyone did. She danced, she laughed, she smiled, she lived. That was why he remembered her name when he introduced himself at the end of the show. “I’m Liv,” she’d said. And he was ready to. He’d endured too many struggles in the last few years. He’d worked hard to keep the band going, and he wasn’t going to give up. With a new record about to be released, this was their year—he could feel it.
Used to getting what he wants, Ben pursues the reluctant Liv, who’s busy following her own dreams. When a devastating accident changes the course of her life, Ben is forced to choose between his band’s long-fought meteoric rise to international fame, and the woman he believes is the love of his life.
It’ll take fate’s intervention once again to bring her back to him, where Ben is convinced she belongs. But Liv is faced with the same dilemma she’s always struggled with. Which is it, love or the dreams she’s never allowed herself to put first, that she won’t let go of?

Nowhere Like Home
Jamie Alexander
(32 Reviews)
Genre: Travel
FREE for a limited time
What kind of teenager would go halfway around the world to stir up a separatist movement in his summer break?
At nineteen, Jamie was nicely on track to becoming one of the most boring people in England, but an impulse trip to the jungles of Indonesian Borneo changed all that. Spurred on by what he encountered among the tribespeople of the Krayan, he made a decision to uncover the truth of the world around him, however uncomfortable that truth would turn out to be.
From the killing fields of Indonesia and the refugee camps of Palestine to the girly bars of the Philippines and beyond, this is the remarkable true story of how this decision came to define his life, seeing him visit some of the least accessible and most volatile places on earth, often armed with little more than a set of disarmingly rosy cheeks and a quirky sense of humour.
Exciting, hilarious and occasionally disturbing, Nowhere Like Home is a coming of age tale that forces us to question not only the reasons people travel, but also the very foundations of our society.
