I feel awful. I have spent next to no time with my sweet chickies in so long I am sure they have forgotten me. Okay, it’s been a day, and it was the hard rain that kept me away. We are talking pound on your head rain, and the ladies really have nothing to say to me when it rains, other than gimme my treats or turn off this water. Still though, it makes me nervous when I haven’t checked on them in over 12 hours. I know they are fine because their coop is so secure, racoons would even think it too much of a bother to try and get in. Now on top of not seeing my ladies in a bit, I am having cheating thoughts. Thoughts of new baby chicks. It is true what they say…. Chickens are the gateway drug to more chickens. Oh…it is so true.

THE ASTONISHING TRUE STORY of a group of thirty-two boys and leaders who accomplished an amazing feat in 1972, when they rode their bicycles from Wood Dale, Illinois to Jacksonville, Florida. It was a simpler time–a common sense two-pedal world with realistic adventures, and everyday heroes. An innocence was lost when twenty-six young boys in a small rural town set out to accomplish something bigger than themselves. Their journey of nearly 1,400 miles would take them through eight states, crossing over the Great Smoky Mountains. It was a tremendous achievement–one that would be hailed as the longest organized bike hike in the history of Scouting.
