I woke up this morning with a bit of regret and embarrassment. I certainly was out of control. I had ten last night and I am paying the price for it this morning. The price was exactly $3.99 each. THE SHAME! I couldn’t resist though! They were so cute. One of the Lego minifigures is a man in a shark costume and another a wrestler with a mullet. A MULLET! Who can resist a Lego man with a mullet??!! I see a photo shoot in the near future. Business in the front, party in the back.

Hitler’s attack on Russia in the spring of 1941 and the Nazi eastward blitzkrieg form a dramatic backdrop to this true story. On the first day of Operation Barbarossa, in the midst of battle, Esther Parnes leads her family east, away from the Polish village of Skalat. A step ahead of Hitler’s earth-scorching troops, Esther and her children endure hunger, disease, and bloodshed. But Hitler’s four-year campaign defeats neither Mother Russia nor Esther Parnes. In an era when women were confined to traditional household roles, at a time when proud men bowed their heads as they stood at the edge of a pit waiting to be shot, this redheaded woman challenged Adolf Hitler. Based on extensive interviews and independent research into the Parnes family’s plight and the Nazi war on Russia, this book tells the story of an extraordinary mother’s battle to save her seven children.

Grigory Ryzhakov
4.2 Stars (38 Reviews)
Genre: Contemporary Fiction | Humor & Satire | Women’s Fiction

FREE for a limited time

Elizabeth Bennet, Bridget Jones and now Chloe McKenzie. She is far from being perfect. So does she deserve Mr Right? Mr Right & Mr Wrong – Two men, one girl. Old dilemma. New century. (romcom)

Choosing the right man can be a real headache, especially when a tough agronomy course at Imperial College comes on top of that, not forgetting a part-time job at a florist’s and a mother desperate to marry you off. Have I mentioned a stalker who keeps sending roses, and a Professor who thinks it’s fine to bury you under an extra pile of academic papers? Arrrgh! Blake may be cute and charming, but Terrence is no less attractive in his business suits. What is a poor girl (and a potential spinster) to do? Dating both of them is the right thing if you listen to Trish and that’s exactly the way Kurt handles his men. Party after party, you have to deal with these bouts of guilt mixed with hangovers while mulling over the same dilemma over and over again – Blake or Terrence? Terrence or Blake? Finding my Prince Charming was my aim for a long time, finding two of them — wasn’t. Think, Chloe, think!

Mr Right & Mr Wrong is a wonderfully warm and witty yet thoughtful chick lit romantic comedy, from which you will not only pick up tips on the intricacies of London dating, but also discover a few moral and ethical aspects of plant neurobiology. Not so much chick lit as chic lit, offering sophistication alongside Chloe’s amusing complications.
