I think the guinea pigs are finally relaxing a bit around me. In the morning I gave them their breakfast of lettuce and carrots and instead of grabbing bits of food and running to hide, they stayed on the platform to eat. I am amazed how much I a looking for a little validation from two little piggies. Seriously get a grip piggies. If I was going to eat you I would have done it by now. It would not have happened after five visits to the vet and a huge bill to top it off. I know they don’t know why they were being shoved in a box and taken to strange lands, but do you think critters ever connect the fact that they feel better after they go to the vet. I feel bad for vets. They dedicate their whole lives to caring for injured and sick animals and the critters do everything in their power to stay away from them. I wonder if they ice cream man appreciate how much he is loved.

But Franklin is haunted, too – by the decades-old murder of a beautiful young artist, killed in the house at the end of Julia’s street. Even though everyone says that the case is solved, Julia can’t escape the feeling that there’s more to the story than she’s being told.

She’s right.

Someone doesn’t want the murder case re-opened. And they’re willing to kill again to stop it.

The house at the end of the street hasn’t begun to give up its secrets.
